Well it’s that time again. With another year behind us it’s time for our Product Review of 2019. Fair to say this year we have had a stand-out winner in terms of popularity and somewhat of a surprise! In 2019 we added a further 20 products to our website, some based on customer enquiries and some based on a hunch. Yup, that’s how technical we are at Team Alp!
So, the knock-out winner by far was one of our eco-packaging products. Adding an eco-packaging range to the website was something that had been bubbling under for several years before we had the time to get if off the ground. Creating this type of complex new product from scratch takes quite some time; we need to figure out and design how these die-cut products will work so that they slot together and durable. We aim to keep everything within the size of an A3 sheet to keep costs to the customer as low as possible, so this is at the forefront of our designs too.
And the winner is…. Soap Boxes. The response to these has been phenomenal and I’m chuffed to bits. I must confess, I hoped our eco-packaging would be a success but expected it to be one of the other products. Have you seen our super cute pillow boxes? And our taper top actually makes a really brilliant little handbag! (Recycle after use, what can be better).
The surprise bust of the year is our range of die-cut, shaped swing tags, which is odd as we get plenty of enquiries for these in the lead up to Christmas. Personally, I adore the bubble top tags which look brilliant on kraft board.
Every year has its highs and lows. Our highs are being able to work with our truly brilliant customers, to bring you new products and keep the green wheels turning. Without you we would not be here. Our low is the bad reviews we get for late deliveries or poor service from the courier company we use. It is a real downer when we get a review that says the product was great, but the courier was late. Sadly, we have no control over any deliveries once they leave our premises. Ho hum.
So, what will 2020 bring? I’m happy to say we have a couple of new products lined up for the first quarter and these are going to be real winners with our retail customers. Can’t wait to roll them out!
