We are a Carbon Balanced Business

Being carbon balanced means that as a business we are taking proactive steps to offset the carbon emissions that our activities produce, so essentially we are neutralising our carbon footprint. We achieve this by calculating our total carbon emissions and then investing in projects and practices that absorb or reduce an equivalent amount of CO2 from the atmosphere. We use Carbon Footprint to calculate the total of our location based emissions. This takes in to consideration the carbon emissions from vehicles, electricity used on site and heating fuel used.
Our total location based emissions total 34.83 tCO2e

Common methods for achieving carbon balance include supporting reforestation initiatives, investing in renewable energy projects, and enhancing energy efficiency. By doing so, individuals and organizations can contribute to slowing climate change and fostering a more sustainable planet.

Carbon Balanced Energy

We are a high energy user in that our business runs entirely on electricity. To ensure that our energy consumption is carbon balanced we actively sought a supplier that offers zero carbon electricity. To this end we have a contract with British Gas that supply us with 100% renewable energy from natural energy sources such as solar, wind and hydro.

Carbon Balanced Paper

The majority of our papers come with carbon offsetting at source via the paper mills. In addition we employ carbon offsetting to cover other carbon generating processes, such as transport, which is managed by our paper merchants. Our contributions go the Woodland Trust and Carbon Footprint to protect, restore and create new woodland. This equates to 65.4 tCO2e offset and an additional 72.4m2 of native woodland replanted.

Carbon Balanced Business

We use the services of Ecologi to offset the additional carbon generated by our business, which equates to approximately 32tCO2e. This is offset annually through various carbon aviodance projects and community led re-forestation projects.
