Any plastic waste we unavoidably receive, such as supplied goods in pallet wrap, is saved and collected separately for recycling via our waste paper converters. But we also wanted to create our own 'Plastic Credit' to offset the plastic footprint generated by the unavoidable plastic waste that is received by A Local Printer in our deliveries etc. To manage this effectively we have signed up with Work For Good to make monthly donations to various sea and ocean charities as we feel very strongly about the damage that plastic waste does in this particular environment. Each two months we choose a different product and make a 10% donation from our sales.
Currently we are supporting Just One Ocean with a mission to protect the ocean for future generations through science, education and communication. With an estimated 3 million tonnes of plastic ending up in the worlds oceans the impact of this pollution is still being counted and the damage calculated. We believe they make a worthy cause for our plastic credits.
In 2024 we were delighted to support The Walk Centre at Nakuru in Kenya with a donation of 200 A4 school exercise books.
Students at Chichester College have volunteered there every year since 2012 and this year our exercise books made the journey with them.
Established in 2005 The Walk Centre provides children with a basic education to break the cycle of poverty that they have been born into, and in turn give them the chance of a better future. We were very happy to be able to support the brilliant work they that they do.
The Girlguiding Association is a leading charity organisation dedicated to empowering girls and young women in the United Kingdom. It provides a supportive environment where girls can develop crucial life skills, build confidence, and make lifelong friendships through a wide range of activities and experiences.
In 2024 we printed and donated sets of Girlguiding notebooks for use throughout the West Sussex units, enabling the Guides to make notes about their activities and record the key points of their meetings.
