2017 - How we survived!

2017 - How we survived!

There was a whole heap of happenings in 2017 and most of which were good! We take a look back on some of the key events of the year - why not join us!

Still standing after 1000 milesThe most challenging and rewarding thing I have learnt over the past decade or so (yikes) is that nothing ever stands still in ALP World! Whether it is new products, new equipment, new people or even new horizons, we zip through the year like one of those speeded up time lapse films.

January is always a good time to reflect back on the past 12 months and 2017 was a corker of a year for us for lots of reasons; I’d like to share a few of the highlights with you. Read on and enjoy!

People

People are the most important aspect of our business. We have lots of lovely customers who keep us busy all year with new and repeat business. Sometimes with complicated projects that test our knowledge and capabilities, and sometimes with products that frankly would make you blush (you know who you are!). And a big thank you to all of them. But the most important people to us are the girls and guys that turn up every day to work at Chez ALP.

In 2017 we welcomed four new faces; one in a replacement position and three brand new shiny faces in newly created jobs. So welcome John E, Andy M, Darren H and Roy M.

2017 was also a notable year for some of our merry band………

Stu became a dad

Tim ran over 1000 miles during the course of the year

Neil cycled to Normandy (and back)

Andy competed in and finished Tuff Mudder in one piece

I changed my hairstyle 3 times and perfected eating between meals without ruining my appetite :)

Equipment

The arrival of our new Ricoh C900 Pro digital press has restored our faith in digital printing equipment. So much so that I expect to be adding a sibling to our plant list pretty soon. Watch this space.

Products

Among the new products we added to the website the most significant were the 15 new items that comprise our eco-wedding collection (really great, you should check them out if you are looking for reception and wedding stationery). We also launched a new Restaurant and Hospitality category with more exciting products due the be added shortly. And my favourite – Custom Colouring Books, because I love seeing the intricate designs that our customers create. Awesome!
