All of our orders are dispatched in double wall recycled cardboard boxes. But what can you do with your box which will help the environment, other than send it for recycling?

How to reuse your box from A Local Printer
Most people will automatically put their boxes in to the recycling collection, but there are lots of other uses for your boxes, from filing systems to insulation!
An impromptu filing system:-
Find folders that fit reasonably well into your box. Arrange and label them accordingly and off you go – a portable filing system that keep all of your files in one place.
Drawer and cupboard organisers:-
If you have multi-purpose drawers used for storing more than one item (and who doesn’t!) get creative with your cardboard box and scissors to create drawer dividers. You can interlock them as well by making vertical cuts and sliding one piece in to the other. Brown cardboard can look a bit basic, so cover your dividers in contact paper for a funky finish.
Under bed storage:-
Rather than letting the space under your bed go to waste and simply collect fluff, use it as a handy storage area – ideal for toys, books, magazines or things that you can’t bear to get rid of but don’t want in your way. Cut your cardboard box a little shorter than the height of the bottom of the bed to the floor and slide your boxes under. Get a little crafty and decorate with wallpaper, wrapping paper or paint to jazz your storage boxes up a bit.
Create a pet playhouse/bed:-
If you have a cat (or small children!) you will already know how irresistible a cardboard box is. Keep your kitty amused for hours by turning your box in to a groovy cat pad by cutting an entrance hole and filling the inside with a snuggly bed and some treats. See you later kitty!
Compost your cardboard or make a mulch:-
Rip your cardboard in to pieces and add to the compost heap – remove the packing tape first though. Cardboard rots down very quickly and adds plenty of carbon to the compost. Yummy! For weed supressing try using cardboard as your first layer, held in place by a heavier material such as compost. Cardboard is great in a mulch as it retains moisture and is an effective weed barrier.
Make a personalised mouse mat:-
Cover your cardboard with contact material and then carfully cut to shape. Or cut to the shape you want and decorate with photos and drawings before covering with clear contact film to preserve your design. Magnificent.
There you go - plenty of tips on how to re-use your boxes rather than recycle them.
