Preparing for your January Sale need not be a nightmare. OK, so December is going to be a mad and busy month, but January deserves your attention to. Start planning for your New Year/January Sale now and it will certainly pay off.
Get ahead of the game. Preparation is key so get ready for your Sale as early as possible. Thinking about and planning how you will promote your Sale is as important as the Sale itself. For your Sale to be successful communication is paramount. Make sure your customers and prospects know that a Big Sale is imminent with email and website notifications, social media updates and of course, lots of visual stimulus like posters and banners.
Leave a reminder. During December or in the lead up to your Sale drop a flyer or leaflet in with each purchase as a reminder of all the great savings that can be made during your Sale. It doesn’t have to be tangible goods either. If you are a service company you might be offering 4 months for the price of two, a free e-book or limited time access to your services free of charge.
Time is a friend and enemy! Give yourself enough time to make your Sale preparations, from deciding upon your pricing/discount structure to planning your pre-sale events and promotions.
Have a goal. Review your sales figures for last January and set yourself a target to beat them by a certain percentage. What will help you achieve this? Better visual promotions, better communication, more products to sell, better discounts? Make your plan and stick to it!
