Tips from a Business Card Printer

business card printingIt’s time to look at what your business card can do for you. As a company that has been printing business cards for close to 40 years we have a few tips that we can pass on to get the best from your card. Not the actual printing and boards; that they have to be excellent goes without saying (or it should!) What we are going to share with you is some tips on guerrilla marketing and how your business card can help.

Essentially, the success of your business card as a marketing tool comes down to getting it in the right place for the right people – guerrilla marketing in other words.

Probably the easiest way is to give your business card to people who actually want it! Be there, in person, with your cards ready to pass on to someone you know will be interested in what you have to offer. Coat-tail marketing means that you will be highly likely to have a receptive audience. Outside restaurants and bars (ideal for onward part goers), by shops and outlets that are in affinity markets to you (outside the garage if you offer a valet service, for example), or if you are feeling daring, near your competitors.

Lovely as it would be to spend all your time handing out business cards it is just not practical. So how else can you get the word out?  Many shops and outlets are very happy to help out a local business and will often be willing for you to leave a bunch of your cards with them for their customers to pick up. This is also a great way to get to know your fellow business chums and perhaps strike up some reciprocal business opportunities.

Secondly, be creative with your guerrilla marketing. Seek out the places that you know your business cards could be picked up. Not just retail areas, but in areas where there is traffic, such as libraries, schools, offices etc – you might just get lucky as you never know where your next big customer is going to pop up.
